About Kyle Arivett-White
Kyle Arivett-White is a fantasy and horror author (and occasionally a science fiction or weird fiction author) living in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. He's a lifelong Texan. He enjoys a good ICEE, zero sugar Dr. Pepper, history, traveling (to historical sites), and insects (he once shared his room with a spider who built her web directly over his bed).
He's worked as a journalist (on an actual printed newspaper), a wedding photographer (once, it was too stressful), sold automobile tires and fine jewelry (not at the same time), and made balloon animals for children's parties.
He is a member of the Speculative Fiction Writers Association and the Writers' League of Texas.
Novels in Progress
If the Heavens Should Fall (adult fantasy): Paavo and Nariel did not know they could speak to machines until circumstances endangered their lives. When they uncover that the machines are powered by trapped energy beings, Paavo and Nariel must battle the machine's enslavers and overcome their own dislike for one another to prevent a catastrophe. The machines are angry and are determined to throw off their bonds, even if it means destroying everything.
Deep Blue Funk (mystery/horror): Roy struggled to escape from a small Texas town. He won a full journalism scholarship, landed a prestigious job at a national newspaper, and has been nominated for major prize for a story about a 12-year-old drug lord. Except ... Roy fictionalized the story. Now facing accusations, he flees to his hometown to take ownership of a weekly newspaper. When young girls begin to disappear again - just like they did the last time he was in town - he believes the story could salvage his reputation. Only, his former neighbors are growing suspicious that the girls began to disappear when Roy returned.
To solve his problems, he will need every ally he can get. That includes his childhood imaginary friend, Drax, a dragon-gargoyle based on a children’s cartoon, who makes a sudden reappearance. Only this time, Drax may not be imaginary … or friendly.
